Placements & Professional Pathways

Developing Ethical, Trauma-Informed Practitioners

At Survivors Support and Bee-lieve Survivors CIC, we recognise that qualifying as a counsellor is only the beginning of professional development.

Many trainees and newly qualified practitioners are looking for:

  • supportive placement opportunities,
  • experience working safely with trauma,
  • confidence in clinical practice,
  • ethical guidance,
  • and pathways towards sustainable professional work.

We aim to provide trauma-informed, supportive and ethically grounded opportunities for counsellors at different stages of development.

Our Approach

We believe that practitioners develop best within environments that value:

  • safety,
  • reflection,
  • supervision,
  • professional integrity,
  • and ongoing learning.

Our placement and professional development pathways are designed to support both practitioner wellbeing and client safety while helping counsellors build confidence and experience in trauma-informed practice.

Placement Opportunities

Through Bee-lieve Survivors CIC, we aim to offer placement opportunities for counselling students seeking:

  • client hours,
  • experience within trauma-informed services
  • supportive professional development
  • and opportunities to grow confidence

Placement opportunities may include

  • one-to-one counselling,
  • psychoeducation
  • community projects
  • and online support where appropriate.

All placements are subject to availability, suitability, safeguarding requirements and organisational capacity.

Support for Newly Qualified Counsellors

We understand that many counsellors continue developing their skills long after qualification, particularly when working with trauma and more complex presentations.

We aim to support newly qualified practitioners and those undertaking further professional development, including Level 5 training, through:

  • supported practice opportunities,
  • reflective learning environments,
  • trauma-informed development,
  • mentoring and supervision pathways,
  • and opportunities to continue building clinical confidence.

Trauma-Informed Professional Growth

Our wider network across Survivors Support, Bee-lieve Survivors CIC and L&M Counselling Training allows us to encourage connected pathways between:

  • training,
  • placement experience,
  • ongoing professional development,
  • and future opportunities within ethical trauma-informed practice.

We recognise the importance of developing practitioners safely and sustainably, while also supporting accessibility and community wellbeing.

Future Professional Opportunities

As our services continue to grow, we hope to create opportunities for:

  • sessional work
  • associate practitioner roles
  • workshop facilitation
  • wellbeing projects
  • and wider professional involvement within trauma-informed services

While opportunities cannot always be guaranteed, we are committed to supporting ethical development pathways wherever possible
