Bee-lieve Survivors CIC currently has a dedicated home within the Survivors Support website while we develop our services, partnerships and future funding opportunities.
This shared platform allows Bee-lieve to grow responsibly, reduce unnecessary costs and build evidence of community need.
Bee-lieve Survivors CIC and Survivors Support are separate organisations that are transitioning into one and share a commitment to ethical, inclusive and trauma-informed support.
I created Survivors Support following more than 15 years of working across charitable and public-sector services, supporting children, young people, adults and families.
Throughout that time, one message came through repeatedly:
“The support was helpful, but I needed more.”
Charitable, community and public services provide valuable and essential support, often while working within limited funding, increasing demand, long waiting lists and restrictions on the number or type of sessions they can offer.
Many services are doing everything they can with the resources available. However, the need for accessible, specialist and longer-term trauma support continues to grow.
I wanted to explore a different and more sustainable approach to providing trauma-informed counselling—one that could work alongside existing services while creating greater choice and opportunities for people who may need additional or longer-term support.
Survivors Support was developed with a commitment to providing compassionate, professional and trauma-informed support while exploring ways to make specialist counselling more accessible to people affected by trauma.
Our vision is to develop a sustainable mixed model in which private counselling, workplace counselling, professional training and services for businesses and organisations help contribute towards the development of affordable, lower-cost and funded counselling opportunities for people experiencing financial barriers.
Bee-lieve Survivors CIC is the next stage in the development of Survivors-Support.
The service is transitioning to a Community Interest Company while carrying forward the same long-term vision: to provide sustainable, trauma-informed support for survivors of sexual violence and contribute to education and prevention.
Becoming a CIC gives the service a not-for-profit structure and a clear community-benefit purpose, helping us demonstrate our commitment to using the organisation's resources to benefit the people and communities we aim to support.
The name and structure may be changing, but the vision remains the same.
We are building on what has already been developed through Survivors-Support and looking towards a sustainable future for Bee-lieve Survivors CIC.
As Bee-lieve grows, we aim to develop:
The availability of future services will depend on funding, partnerships and available resources.
